Fence is our responsibility and it is rotten from the ivy so it needs replacing. There is no point putting a new fence in even in front of this fence. just for the ivy to grow through it in a years time. Even if we used membrane between the fences I heard ivy will just grow through it.

Yes the strap is holding the fence up (we both have dogs so need it secure). The concrete posts have actually failed and every panel is going rotting due to the ivy.
