What the plant under crepe Myrtle?
Just redid the front garden. Grass going in next week. These crepes have been here since we moved in and we don’t mind them, a nice feature. This is about as much leaf cover as they get and it’s about to fall in Adelaide with changing weather.
Under them at the moment is a liriope that I split. You can see the mum liriopes to the side which was removed for the landscape reno. Would you go liriopes again under there? The rest of the property is all native now with the except of ornamental pears which are already established and these crepe Myrtle’s.
I’ve read natives don’t do well under crepe Myrtle’s. I’m going for a grass vibe under there. My goal with liriopes was just fill out that space with grass so just the trunks emerge but open to native grass suggestions. We’ve got heaps of lomandra Tanika in the back under a massive gum so thinking another variety
