What sort of beast has been scratching my tree this weekend?!

It’s about knee height… some vertical scratch marks (so I suspect not a hooved animal) On a rowan if you’re wondering. I didn’t think badgers or foxes did this sort of behaviour? And as far as I know, we don’t have jaguars or wolverines . Thanks
