What is this thing that is killing my palmetto lawn?

As per the title, im just wondering if anyone is able to tell me what this is, and how best to treat it if known.

My lawn seems to be riddled with them. I suspect I was only able.to spot them today as they’ve surfaced in response to recent rain.
