What is eating my eggplant tree / root / bark? Singapore – Reddit Post

I have a a flourishing eggplant tree that has flower and fruited a few times. But recently something has been eating the tree / root / park and it is dying substantially. We saw a reptile but I don’t know what type of iguana or reptile eats the non leaf non fruit. Any ideas?
