Something had munched through every single iris flower stem the last 4 years…. Lost almost everything in this spot last year from the slugs.

Look how many flowers it has now 😍 I dug it up, washed the roots, divided and replanted and covered the stems in vaseline as they began to turn purple.

Think this year is also going to be the year I see my attempt at succession planting be a success too for the first time.

Late flowering wisteria will follow the clematis (🀞) and lychnis, cosmos, ornamental poppies, hardy geranium and a rose are set to follow on from the iris. This patch of ground it tiny. Probably 3×2 ft. I’ll have to move the rose eventually I’m sure but will get a good couple years in first.

Heavy clay that has been mulched and organics dug in. Only patch in the garden that gets full sun.
