Verbena bonariensis moisture tolerance – where to plant?

Decided to grow some this year as they’re one of my favourite plants but we have a very difficult and small garden. I went overboard and sowed the entire packet of seeds so have at least 40 seedlings, none of which I want to sacrifice. Based on the following conditions, where is best to place them?

garden started from scratch 5 years ago (new build) clay soil naturally, very moist extensive drainage throughout garden tapped into main drain – used to be waterlogged, much improved now aerate, top dress and overseed lawn twice a year with lawn seed suited to heavy clay soil – lawn used to die every winter from damp and shade raised beds on both sides and the top top raised bed in full sun with good soil, not damp, containing 3 fruit trees, gooseberry bushes, loganberry and strawberries – does get very thick with tree foliage throughout summer one side bed east facing, one west facing one side bed quite successful, one not so much all beds dry out in summer and need watering both side beds get very wet in winter, the west facing particularly bad – removed a full bag of clay from the bottom of it yesterday and replaced with good compost mixed into the soil – large gravel at the very bottom side beds contain thirsty plants with shady thirsty ones at the bottom which gets the least amount of sun cannot plant straight into the ground as the borders are all raised and corners flagged

In short – both side beds are dry and sunny in summer but wet and dark throughout the cold seasons. Will the verbena survive there? Little to no room in the top bed which has ideal growing conditions and verbena are very tall. I’ve also just sown geum and dianthus seeds which I planned to put with the verbena. I know I’ve been over ambitious. Help?
