Two blossoms on one tree?

I have a much neglected cherry blossom(?) tree in my garden (I’ve only recently caught the gardening bug) and it appears the newer growth is blossoming in white while the older branches are blossoming in pink and a different shape altogether.

Is this normal? Should I be worried?

And can someone direct me to where I can learn about how to prune and care for this tree?
