TIFU trying to put in a new bed

I’ve been planning to extend one of my beds for a while now.

Had today off work so thought it would be a good idea however I massively underestimated how dry it has been recently and how back breaking it would be to clear the area.

Little did I know that it was also mostly stones (and a few large rocks and bricks), combined with the dry earth, I’m definitely going to be feeling this tomorrow. The area is only roughly 2×2 so not massive by any means.

On the plus side, I managed to practice my golf swing for several hours with the mattock!

I’ve added 3 wheelbarrows of compost and 1 wheelbarrow of well rotted manure to try to help it all out. Only time will tell if the new plants take to it now!
