Star Jasmine Climbing

Hi all, I’ve planted this lovely star jasmine and assumed that it would be able to climb this trellis fence I made, but has occurred to me that the gaps may be a little small for it – does anyone know if it will be able to support itself on this as is, or if I need to put a network of canes up as well? TIA!
