Spring Blossom Question

Hi all,

2 questions for my fellow gardeners!

The first is – Google Lens tells me this is a Spring Blossom. I’m not sure if it is Ornamental or the Fruiting Variety. What do you think?

PS – friendly reminder to be patient through winter. This tree was quite literally bare/sat dormant for so long. I was really questioning if it was alive.

Watered it up every few days and it had a terrific bloom of white flowers. White flower bloom has stopped, followed now by green follage and small green bulbs….

Second question, when should I look at trimming it back? It has grown a bit since these photos were taken.

Very new to gardening and don’t want to trim / prune it at the wrong time.
