Something to try when controlling aphids

I planted two new roses earlier this year and both have been rather plagued with aphids. I know ladybirds enjoy eating aphids, and some birds too, but unfortunately I have a severe lack of both in my garden. However I had noticed that I have plenty of centipedes living under stones in my garden, and the internet tells me that centipedes will eat aphids. So, I placed a random bit of concrete close to my young rose in the hope that a centipede would move in. I resisted peeking for a couple of weeks but noticed that the aphid population has reduced. Took a peek under the concrete today and it was alive with centipedes (and woodlice).

Might be worth a try in your garden?

As an aside, I noticed empty snail shells in and around centipede homes in my garden. Apparently they eat snails too.

So centipedes seem to be a great friend to us gardeners. In my garden at least, just leaving large stones, or bits of slab lying around seems to attract them.
