Some seed starts have leaf curling/drying why?

I got a new bag of miracle grow potting mix, this is what I’ve always used to start my veggie seeds. This year I’m noticing some stuff like herbs and my tomato are acting funny. They germinate grow some true leaves then the next day those leaves have withered and dried out. Soil isn’t dry, I have a fan on for air circulation, they are under appropriate grow lights. I’m leaning towards something wrong with the soil?

Some new leaves will continue to grow out the middle as older leaves wilt dry and die. Any ideas?
