Remove or keep fleece?

So a few weeks I asked this community whether it was too late to sow grass seed, particularly for a shady garden in London.

The resounding answer was no, so I set to and got to work with this warm wet weather being ideal for germination.

The seed has almost been down 2 weeks and is really starting to come through under the fleece (2nd photo).

Question is, do I remove the fleece now to give the grass a chance to grow or do I keep it down to protect it?

If I keep it down will it be ok if I walk on it now to remove the leaves or would it be better to just leave them?
