Reminder that slow release fertilisers are plastic coated and leech microplastics into the soil
I did some research on slow release fertilisers and found that nearly all of them (including ones used commercially) are coated in ‘resin-based polymer coatings’ not bio-degradable and leaches microplastics into the soil. Honestly whatever we do seems to damage the planet in one way or another. Just thought I’d raise awareness. I’m not sure how it’s been allowed to go on for so long, but it seems like there is a change coming in 2026 which is pushing some companies to start looking into other options
