Question about 9CM Perennials

Might be a silly question, but even with the really little perennials I’ve just planted with their tiny bit of foliage, will that still all die off during the winter? I’m imagining yes, but I wondered if it was different since it’s technically new growth. Just didn’t want to worry myself if I see them all going back to nothing! Most are herbaceous.
