Pumpkin help!

Can anyone answer a couple of questions for me? I have this pumpkin I put in for fun, I have no idea about pumpkins. Is this normal? It looks like its dying, this is probably the first proper wet day here since autumn started.. could that be why? And how do I keep the ants off the bottom side? Many thanks! (Please don’t judge the state of my yard.. it’s a work in progress!)
