Polytunnel vs trees/shrubs to reduce noise from road.

Our house is about 40 ft from a busy road and I’m looking at options in the garden to reduce noise – main choice being a polytunnel vs planting more shrubs/trees. There’s already a big hedge and some trees there but they don’t do much to reduce the noise. I’m wondering if the polytunnel would help a bit in terms of deflecting the sound waves?
