Plants keep dying in just one spot of garden bed

I’ve had a daisy and now a little bibi on the corner of this garden bed. Both are thriving for about a year and then all of a sudden they are completely dead – it’s not gradual.

Any ideas as to what it could be? It’s weird all other plants are fine next to it. I suspected ants.
