Plant recommendations

Looking for some idea on what to plant to fill the space behind the retaining wall, as well as the space next to the path. The width of each section is about 70cm and 45cm respectively. We were thinking climbing fig for the fence, with some dichondra in the planter box plus some shrubs(??) and a low box hedge next to the pathway.

Priorities are low maintenance, neat and to keep the space as open as possible for sunlight.

Location is Melbourne, the garden box against the fence is essentially full sun and next to the path is part sun as pictured.
