On the lookout for mint – Reddit Post

Hello r/gardening. I have a strong desire to grow mint, but I’m having difficulty finding the specific species/varieties I’m looking for. There is a list here that I’ve been looking at: https://ownyardlife.com/types-of-mint-plants/

I’ve been looking into banana/apple/chocolate mints, American Wild mint, and Pennyroyal. But i can’t find any retailers that look trustworthy.

Are there any recommendations here for specific mint species? (Eventually I want to have a large, diverse mint garden. Spear and peppermint are already easy to find so they are first on the list.) And tips for where to acquire them?

I am doing this with the knowledge of how weed-like the plants can get, and can grow them in raised beds or indoors. I’m also on the edge of 4 and 5 on the planting zone map if that matters.
