New gardener pulled hibiscus from the ground! š” – Reddit Post
I called myself giving a new business a try. I asked them to mow my front and side lawn and to weed the flowerbed. In the flowerbed were 5 hibiscus bushes that my daughter planted earlier this year. When he told me he was done, I went outside. The lawn and side yard was beautiful, but HE PULLED MY HIBISCUS bushes. My daughter was in literal tears. They were growing so well š
He proceeds to say to me, āWhen people say weed, I assume they want everything goneā. Like, SIR, you do this for a living, you gotta be kidding me. THEY HAD FLOWERS ON THEM! š”
Not only did he pull them, but he separated them from the root ball. There is only about an inch of root. He replanted them (I made him pull them out of the trash), but they have dried out. Itās not ādead-deadā, but Iām worried that they wonāt grow back at all. And the had TONS of buds. They wouldāve been so beautiful⦠what to do? Call it a loss and get new ones? Pull them up and pot them until the root grows back? Will the root even grow back?
My daughter was in literal tears. I was and am soooo upset. Any way to save them or are they a total loss?
