New build garden water retention
Hi,
We recently moved into a house built in 2020, and we’ve noticed that our garden has a lot of water retention issues after it rains. To investigate, I dug about 2 feet down in various spots around the garden and found clay soil. Land used to belong to a farm (pre 2020 acquisition by the developer).
We’re hoping to install a patio and make the garden more manageable overall, but I’m unsure whether we need to dig up and fully relay the garden to tackle the drainage issue.
Would it be worth making this a bigger project to resolve the water retention properly, or is there a more efficient solution? Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks!
