New Build Garden, Step by Step

I’m about two weeks into owning my new build home and it’s time to start thinking ahead for the garden. I’ve never had a garden before so very new to this and, while happy to do all my own research, I just wanted to know what everyone’s thoughts are on each of the steps needed.

So far I believe I need to:

Lift paving stones (I don’t like them much) and it gains access to the whole of the garden then.

Dig down and fact find what I’m actually dealing with. I know there’s a ton of rocks and stones that I’ll want to remove so I can get on with doing that

Level it. It’s pretty level anyway but there is a slight slope at the end of the garden where I want to put a bit of a patio/sitting area.

Top soil and then seed it.

That’s all I can think of but i just wanted to know everyone’s thoughts and where the best online guides are
