New bud on banana tree – Reddit Post

My 4-5 year old banana tree finally has its first bud! Unfortunately it’s already mid October and most likely the frost will kill it before it produces ripe fruit. Does anyone know about how long it takes from bud to fruit? I’m in SE Georgia and we usually don’t get our first frost until December.
