Is there any way to kill bamboo without digging it up

I’ve had a quote to dig up some bamboo in our back garden for £6000 which I quite frankly can’t even begin to afford. We’ve been recommended glycophosphates to kill it off. Can anyone confirm if this is effective and if so, where can I get it, or whether there is something more effective?

For context, I’m looking for something I can do fast as it’s right by a neighbours fence which is down and being replaced in the next couple of days.
