Identification and advice

This is an extremely invasive vine. It has a characteristic leaf shape like Ivy, and a stalk with thin red pinstripes.

Over the 6 years we’ve been at our home, it has gone from a single growth on the neighbour’s fence, to now having shoots popping up all around our own dwelling, even on the far side to where it was originally. I’ve started to notice it appearing in our mainly native garden, creeping up other plants and entwining them…

What is it, and any advice on tackling this pest?

Side note: we back up to bushland, so there will always be “invaders”, but have recently had a gardener come in and clear a zone around our property – which we intend to maintain… It’s just how to get rid of these shoots, which seem poised to spring up from just about anywhere.
