I just saw this on one of my tomato plants…freaky looking but now aware of what it is – Reddit Post
I looked it up and found that this creepy looking catapiller is actually a horn worm with larvae of a parasistoid wasp that kills the worm, thus protecting my tomato plants! Ahhh, nature…you crazy, beautiful thi-F*CK GIANT SPIDER! KILL IT!(highly arachnophobic, but they are the only thing in nature I am paralyzed by, depending on size) I call all the toads we have Reg Thorpe and am disappointed they are slacking keeping the especially SUPER SIZED arachnids out of my damn garage.
I have a tendency to derail off topic(ADHD paired with an inhumane amount of experiences makes one thought turn into a road trip with several detours), but back to this fascinating garden helper, this is the first time we’ve made a fenced-in garden, so I’m in awe of this!
We’ve started a compost as well to enhance the soil for next spring, which we’ll be building a metal fence in order to keep out our ONE dog, Addy, who’s destroyed most of it now. I’d love some feedback about how best to do so, as well as more ideas on the next garden, which will have more edible plants for my salads, as well as squash and strawberries. We’re going to make the garden larger after some research has expressed how dire space is for a majority of the plants we plan to grow.
