How to prepare a strawberry patch for winter? – Reddit Post

What’s the best way to ensure these strawberries will make it to next year? And should runners be trimmed now or in the spring?

Located in zone 7 USA and its the first year of being planted. The bed itself has gotten pretty overloaded with runners.

I have seen some trim back foliage just above the crown and cover in straw once they have gone dormant for the season.
