How Early Is Too Early for Tomatoes in the UK? (And Does It Stop Me?)
When do you all tend to put your tomatoes out? And do you ever do successive sowings to try and stretch the season, or do you find the UK summer short enough as it is?
In a fit of what I’m calling enthusiasm (and definitely not poor impulse control), I’m planning three rounds of sowings this year, aiming for about 80 plants in total. So far, I’ve foolishly charged ahead and planted the first 26 out — 17 tucked into the polytunnel and 9 braving the great outdoors properly.
“Foolish and impatient” does seem to be my gardening style at this point… but at least it’s consistent.
