Help! Trying to use Charles Dowding method to lay compost over cardboard and plant right away, but it looks so messy visually having raised sections, how to design it and plant?

The blue sections have no weeds, I lay some compost here and want to plant native shrubs along fence line

Part I really need help: The yellow section has a layer of cardboard over weeds and I’ve dumped about 50mm compost on top but I’m not sure how to lay it properly so I can plant in it. Charles also said if you want to plant right away it needs 10cm of compost, which I have BUT it will be all sloped and hard to plant, plus looks odd having random raised sections with no edges in the garden?
