Found a solution to my squirrel problem – Reddit Post
Last year, I had constantly squirrel issues in my garden. I sowed close to 30 sunflower seeds, and grew one singular sunflower. My tomatoes were routinely “sampled” too.
Through naturalization, composting, and favoring native plants, I’ve tried to build a better relationship with Nature. Nature has responded in kind, and sent this lovely one-eyed Barred Owl and solved my issues. I caught 18 squirrels in snaptraps in my garage last summer. I haven’t heard or seen one for weeks now.
I was warned composting would bring rodents, so I have it far away from my house. There are field mice and squirrels that interact with the pile, and this owl has staked it as their territory.
Just wanted to share a success story(and a beautiful photo my fiance took) with you fine folks.
