Council tree blocking sun from my garden – Can I ask them to prune it?

Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right sub for this.

Does anyone know how receptive the council would be to me asking them to prune the tree on the nature strip out the front of my house?

It overhangs my property fairly significantly and blocks out the sun (and rain) 24/7 from the garden beds there.

I have the number ready to call, I’m just anticipating a “we’ll have a look next time we’re there” and then nothing ever being done.
