Citrus tree question

I have 2 small citrus trees, 1 lemon, 1 lime. The lemon tree is dropping so much fruit I’m unsure what to do with it. Do I leave it in place to compost, or do I Chuck it in the green waste bin?

If I leave it in place it’s attracting fruit flies. If I remove it, it’s wasted compost.

What’s the best thing to do?
