Basil black spots

I am trying to grow some basil and have noticed black spots on the leaves and they are starting to fall off on its own. It’s looking very sad 😥. I have also been spraying it with pyrenthum as something has been eating the leaves.

Could the spray cause it or is it something else?

I am in Perth WA.
