Alium are coming up in random spots – Reddit Post

We bought our house 3.5 years ago. When we moved in, there were mostly dead bushes in all the flowerbeds that we paid landscapers to pull up, along with the landscape plastic. The only flowers were some lilies in pots left by the people who rented before we bought the house.

I immediately planted lots of bulbs, which have been doing well. We have a huge herd of deer so I’ve been planting deer proof and deer resistant things. I had bought a bag of 6 alium bulbs and planted 3 right by the house and the other 3 in a bed across the yard, by the street.

This year, I have unexpected alium coming up in other beds. I seriously don’t remember planting them anywhere else. It’s possible I’m losing my mind, we’ve been fostering our nephew since a week after we bought the house and life has been pretty emotional and stressful because of that.

I know alium can spread like any other bulb. But is it possible they can suddenly appear in other random beds? I know for sure I didn’t plant one where the photo shows, that whole corner was taken up by the nasturtium last year. And it looks so well developed. It’s not open yet, but I’m 90% sure it’s alium.
