Advice on what to plant

Hello!

I have this patch of land outside my house that has been largely ignored. It was grass but is no mainly weeds.

There are 3 trees – a cherry, a pear and a the big one is a cherry blossom.

I’d like to add some nice plants, bushes, shrubs etc and make it look beautiful. I’d like various colours and sizes and for it to change with the seasons and look good all year round. Bonus points for edibles – fruits/herbs etc. and it has to be pet friendly.

Can anyone give me some ideas of what to plant in this space?
