Is this fine

So this is a bush that had black berries on it so Im assuming it’s a blackberry bush. Anyway, I didn’t plant this and didn’t want it and it was massive so I drowned it in lots of water and then used a small log and beat it up. Is this going to kill it? What else should I do?
