Is this meant to have all these plants or are they all weeds?

They all look pretty, but seem excessive. Aside from the big broad leaf plants at the base, at the ferns etc meant to be there?

Hi all, I’m new to vegetable growing in Brisbane, and first efforts seem to be randomly successful or not. Brinjals are productive, but bitter and woody. The ones on the current crop don’t seem to want to go fully aubergine at the thicker end of the fruit either. I water them every second day.
