Weed Tree with fruit – ID request (nightshade family?)
Location: outer east, Melbourne, Victoria (approaching Mt Dandenong)
I’ve got this tree growing in one of the long neglected corners of my garden. Note in the third photo there is a difference species of tree in the background, with leaves of two colour. Please ignore that tree. 🙂
The tree in question currently has green fruit, that are extremely hard when squeezed. The fruit are probably the size of grapes.
Is the tree part of the nightshade family? Any specifics, please?
And is the fruit edible when ripe?
If edible when ripe, how do I know when they’re ripe?
