Extremely inexperienced gardener, looking for guidance to plant a low yield fruit tree, suitable for fire wood.

I’m thinking about adding a tree to my garden and would like it to be;

Fruit bearing, although not prolifically as I won’t be able to make use of large yields. I’m thinking of something that stores easily like apples or that can be preserved well but open to most suggestions.

Suitable for fire wood.

Relatively quick to establish. (Although maybe I’ll need to buy a more expensive semi-established tree for my needs?)

Low maintenance, other than pruning once or twice a year to create a stockpile of kindling and arm sized branches.

Not going to grow wide/tall as long as it is managed.

I’m in the SE of England, with decent draining soil, leaning towards slightly acid but base-rich loamy and clayey soils.

It would be planted around 15-20m from the nearest building, no other large trees in the immediate area and overall an exposed area and with good amount of sunlight.

Sycamores grow well in the general area as an idea of what trees are around.
