Do you also help seasonal mums establish as perennial in your garden? – Reddit Post
This 7 years old beauty thriving on minimal attention while my showy new store bought mums sulking. If not for the squirrels poking in and out of the bush it would have been as flawless as the mums up for sales in our local HD – albeit much bigger in size (has a spread of over 3 feet) All I do is a little bit of compost in April every 2 years. It came as a showy use-and-throw seasonal mum in 2018, supposed to be chucked out come spring. I decided to help it when i realized it was sending new shoots in spring. Best 5 bucks spent ever. Since her I accumulated many more seasonal mums that are establishing slowly in the garden. But none bits her vigor and flower power.
