Anyone with experience with backyard chickens?

Apologies since this isn’t strictly gardening but hoping you guys had some advice!

In the last few years, our family has been really getting into gardening and we’ve loved getting our own fresh produce! Really can’t beat that home grown option, basically impossible to go back to a supermarket after.

One thing we’ve never had the time and space for has been backyard chickens and unfortunately we don’t know anyone with some. Just wondering, does anyone in Sydney own backyard chickens?

How do you guys normally pass on extra eggs you get every week, is there somewhere to sell them when you’ve got them? Would much prefer buying off people who really take care of their small flock rather than options at Coles/Woolies.
