Why do I keep killing my basil plant? – Reddit Post

This is the second store bought basil plant I’ve tried to grow and both times the stems started going brown like this. I thought I was overwatering so I toned it back, but then the leaves just shriveled up. Now that I’m watering it every day (often with some plant food in it) the leaves look happy but the stems don’t. I keep it in a little ikea greenhouse (with a mint plant) on the windowsill so it has lots of sun. I think I’ve had it about 2 months. Any tips would be much appreciated!
